ALL NIGERIANS IN SPAIN

Ask your question and let others respond to it... And you can also respond to other people’s questions as well...

But today, the story has taken drastic change. A new era of darkness rages in most part of Nigeria as human kidnapping has become nearly a daily incident. News have it that about 512 kidnapped incident were reported in the space of the first six months of this year.

The most painful aspect of it is that some of the victims were delivered to their family in body bag, even after the ransom demanded for their released has been paid. These ransoms demanded are no just pocket moneys, they wallows in millions of nairas. It all started like a child’s play, but today it has become a quick money making business for hoodlums.

No sector of the country has been spared as prominent people in the country are the most been targeted. Which is obvious as they will definitely attract higher ransom and quick response. Traditional rulers are not exempted as His Royal Highness (HRH) Igwe Mbameh Okeke of Abagana has been a victim. And in Enugu state, Igwe Uche Nwachime in Nkanu was also abducted and later killed. The wife of Oba of Ado Ekiti was also a victim.

The rate of kidnapping in the country has risen to nearly 70 per cent from last year. These kidnappers targets wealthy politicians, high profile business tycoons, children and relatives of wealthy people, traditional rulers and monarchs.

Human kidnapping in the most popular African Country has gone beyond Niger delta youths trying to make their voice heard and force the Federal government to treat them as they truly deserve, by giving their community a fair share of the Economy’s return as their land produce most of the country,s natural resources.

Kidnapping in Nigeria was first unleashed in Port Harcourt on February 18th, 2006. Then it was mostly foreigners working with oil companies in the Niger Delta regions that were kidnapped and the ransom for the victim’s freedom were mostly focused on attracting the Federal Government to their Community’s well deserved needs. And incident of death of victims were quite rare.

Even Nigerians abroad are no longer at ease as they are afraid of not been victimized by kidnapping their loved ones back home. Things have really fallen apart as this is happening at a time the western world is facing a  great depression in their economy. And going back home to settle in our beloved mother land has become a dream even more of a mirage than ever.

Oh my beloved country, why this huge negative steps of survival.  The corrupt system of our government no doubt, has contributed immensely to this negative war to survive raging through the country. Human kidnapping would never had started 3 years ago in Port Harcourt  at all, if the system of our government was not corrupt and our natural resources where not been mismanaged. Today it’s a different story. Many Nigerians now face nightmares as it were during night fall in Soweto, South Africa in their apartheid days.

Imagine Nigeria in all her oil wealth as one of the world’s top oil producing nation still have more than half,  -60% of the country’s population living below poverty line. Ed Kashi, a photo journalist, co-author of the book- Curse of the Black Gold. Who has spent years documenting the country’s oil industry disclosed that Nigeria has reaped more than $600 billion of oil wealth in the past half -century. But for the people in the region, oil has brought abject poverty, lack of development and fostered government corruption.

What is the way out of this turbulence waves in Nigeria, in the face of global crisis. I have no better option than God Almighty’s intervention. Because our government has failed us over a million times and is still siting on it’s failure with no positive prospect that we can look forward to. Let us all continue to pray to God in respect of this great land. For the heart of a king is in the hands of God. Let God’s own people continually strive to live righteously as by their righteousness they can stand in the gap to exalt this nation. Every day take a moment to pray for Nigeria, if all Nigerians do this daily God will surely heal our land.

A cry of rescue was heard in Benin City recently as Medical Doctors took to the street on a march to plead for governmental protection. They even marched to Oba Erediawa ( the Oba of Benin )’s palace, to cry for help as in recent times Doctors has become primary target of the kidnappers. Five Doctors were kidnapped in the space of one week in Benin City. Among prominent people that has been kidnapped in Benin City is Bob Izua, MD, Bob Izua motors. He was later released after a ransom of 5 miilion naira was allegedly paid.
